The process for making enamel work involves cutting or sawing the shape from a metal sheet,
firing layers of liquid enamel or fine glass particles in a kiln at 1450 F, and sometimes adding 24k gold leaf.
I may also draw an accent design with a graphite pencil.
Pieces are hand cut and formed from sterling silver sheet and wire.
Many of these pieces are textured and oxidized to bring depth and contrast to the surface.
The process of keum boo involves fusing a layer of
24K gold on metal to make a permanent bond.
I use sterling silver as a base metal.
